Motivation
for the Project |
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
 |
Data connectivity in several
remote areas is not satisfactory in terms
of bandwidth and/or reliability. |
 |
Sparse population in many
areas, so stationary e-learning
terminals would remain under-utilized. |
 |
Mobile e-learning terminals
using VSAT data connectivity will be
more effective and make better
utilization of investment. |
 |
Mobile e-learning terminals will go a
long way in reducing the
digital-divide and
education-divide between urban and
remote areas. |

The prime objective of the project
is to make available to the
students e-lectures and knowledge
e-contents of their interest
free-of-cost using VSAT-Enabled Mobile
e-Learning Terminals (MeLTs). |
 |
The prime target of the project is
the school and college students living
in remote areas where data
connectivity is unsatisfactory in
terms of bandwidth and / or
reliability. |

The mobile e-learning terminals
will deliver: |
| |
 |
The
e-lectures broadcast through Edusat |
 |
The
knowledge e-contents already available or
being developed under the Mission (using
Edusat bandwidth, as far as possible).
